The Alabama basketball team is not making tournament chances any easier for themselves after a 73-52 showing versus the Florida Gators.

The Tide only made 11 of their first 47 shots and put up a 17-minute period with only field goal in the first half as they fall to a now 17-13 (8-9 SEC) record.

Alabama let the now 19-11 (10-7 SEC) gators reach a 28 point lead behind Jalen Hudson’s 27 point performance.

The road teams have won both matchups this season in blowout fashion as Bama won the previous meeting 68-50.

Colin Sexton scored 14 points. Sexton has only scored over 20 once in the last 8 games. Braxton Key had 11 and at one point had almost half the team’s first 24 points.

The Gators shot 48 percent, but they did not even have to shoot that well as Alabama put up one of their worst overall offensive performances of the year with an embarrassing 13 percent first half performance.

Crimson Tide fan favorite and sparingly used Lawson Schaefer was put in the game for 14 minutes in an 0-2 performance.

The tide removed all starters with 6:22 left in the game.

All Alabama fans want to know now is the team’s chances of making the big dance. The Tide’s chances a week ago were favored at 84 percent but after four consecutive losses, those chances have decreased to 64.

With a now sub .500 record in conference play, the team needs to put up an impressive showing at Texas A&M Saturday.
